BBC Documentary Row: SC agrees to hear plea against Center ban on February 6

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the guilty plea against the Center’s decision to ban the controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the 2002 Gujarat riots.

The high court agreed today to list a PIL on February 6.

Lawyer ML Sharma has filed the petition for an early hearing before a court headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud.

Sharma challenged the Center’s decision to ban the documentary India: The Modi Questionalleging that the ban was in bad faith, arbitrary and unconstitutional.
